On this family-friendly hike, experience the diverse landscape between the Stromberg and Heuchelberg mountains, with highlights including the Ehmetsklinge and Katzenbachsee lakes. You start at the nature park center at Ehmetsklinge, which you can also reach by bus. Allow plenty of time to explore the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park center, the "Wildcat World" adventure playground, and the picturesque lakeshore.
With views over rolling vineyards, you'll reach the clear Katzenbachsee lake. Treat yourself to a break at the kiosk or jump into the cooling water before continuing on to Zaberfeld. The water world there, with its Kneipp pools, is great fun for all ages. A short while later, you'll return to the starting point and can end the day around the nature park center.

Wonderful excursion destination for families and co. The nature center and the Wildgräutergarten in particular are very instructive and interesting. On hot days you can cool down and relax directly at the lake and buy refreshments at the kiosk that is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Unfortunately, I was navigated quite often along grassy dirt roads and often there is no signage at intersections and reappears in the middle of the cornfield. The trails are less suitable for children, and you have to cross a country road once. But around the lake itself, a wonderful biotope nature and lots of fun discovery for young and old!
Beautiful circular trail around the Ehmetsklinge and the Katzenbachsee.
The Lake Trail has its charm even in icy temperatures. If you don't know it, it's signposted throughout, and it's great at any time of the year!

In glorious weather we explored the water worlds near Zaberfeld with the Ehmetsklinge and Katzenbachsee reservoirs.
Very nice tour. Abbreviated due to a thunderstorm. The shortcut was also very nice and at the end we had a coffee at the lake kiosk. Excursion destination with children and dog for hiking, swimming and chilling.
