This route was planned by komoot.
It was planned differently, but it was nice like this! We wanted to visit some gardens and manor houses, but they were all closed due to safety concerns after the storm and heavy rain ⛈️ yesterday afternoon until this morning. Postponed is not cancelled 😔 Then it's time to go hiking again. After Kalle had hardly been able to walk for weeks due to knee problems, this round was quite daring. Very uneven ground, mud, up and down stairs, a bit of climbing and generally a little longer. It went well! 😊😊 Tuckenhay is more or less like our town Stoke Gabriel, only smaller and more remote. There's nothing there except 2 pubs 🙄 But the circular route is nice, along the river for so long. Outside of the two villages we walked through, we only met one person (an old farmer with a stick who was either deaf or very rude) and a single cow, which seemed quite content. The small town of Cornworthy, which we are still passing through, has a few oddities. I have already bought a few things in churches in the UK (mostly for a good cause, my favorite is a teacup from 1953. On one side, the newly crowned Elizabeth II is shown, on the other, eternal loyalty to Liverpool FC is sworn 😂) But in Cornworthy, there are pumpkins in the church. Giant pumpkins that we probably don't want to lug around with us. We have to grin at the sign on a front door that says that their place is more stylish than the neighbors' - is that how you make friends? The icing on the cake is a piano as a garden decoration, where elsewhere there would be a little dwarf 🤭 The weather was mixed, but dry. Of course, the paths weren't! Everything else in the pictures! 😊
