What a contrast to the last tours! Instead of masses of tourists like in Alberobello, the capital of the pointed-cap houses, or like in Monopoli and Bari, this time it was pure nature in the Alta Murgia Nature Park. You hardly meet anyone there. I only saw 3 workers, 4 tanks, 2 carabinieri in a Fiat Panda patrol car looking for a stolen truck and a few motorcyclists on a short stretch of road. There are no water points here, so if you are traveling here, you should take enough drinking water with you. Some of the paths are adventurous, especially the paths that suddenly disappear ;-) Many residents have also disappeared, there are lots of lost places here, even a completely abandoned place. There are also legends about some ruins like Jazzo del Demonio, where Satan is said to have visited two shepherds on a winter night in 1870.
