Wildschönau High Trail

Beautiful ridge walk that goes over several of the area's flagship peaks. At the beginning, after the cable car station, it is advisable to leave the wide road and cross the first summit on a small, varied path. As you continue, you are always right on top of the ridge with the most wonderful views in all directions. The paths are easy and easy to do even with children, but the route is long. In order to reach the hiking bus at the end on the Schönanger Alm, you shouldn't spend too much time on the way. The last hiking bus leaves at 4:30 p.m. Otherwise you still have a long way to go to the bus further up the valley or you should have a ride available at the alpine pasture.

The weather was fantastic, even though it was already very fresh in the morning. The tour was very well organized and excellent. The paths were easy to walk on despite the dampness and a little snow. I didn't need crampons though. The event will take place again next year and I'll be there then.

Today was the highlight of our hiking holiday. 30 points for the hiking pin. 💪🏻 We're now assured of silver, but the best reward was the fantastic hike with magnificent views. We started by bus to the Markjochbahn cable car, which then took us up to the starting point of the hike. We passed the Holzalm pasture and went to the Vorderalm, then up to the Feldalphorn. We continued over the Schwaigberghorn, Breiteggern, and Breiteggspitze, down to the Schönangeralm. From there, we took the hiking bus back to Auffach.
