Lower Traligill Cave

Highlight • Cave

Lower Traligill Cave is the main sink for the River Traligill from Gleann Dubh. In wet weather the cave overflows and resurges, rapidly flooding the valley below.

The entrance is visible from the Glenbain track, a broad arch with gravel and boulders on the floor.

Waterslide Cave

Highlight • Cave

The large opening reveals a waterslide with a river flowing from a pothole above and leaving through the cavern to the right (where it ends in a sump).

Don't try to enter the cave as the ground is steep and slippery - this is a dangerous place.

Uamh an Tartair Cave

Highlight • Cave

The water can't be seen but it can be heard - the large chamber is a dead-end.

Further progress, strictly for equipped and experienced cavers only is made by crawling to the right under a section of low roof.

Conival

Highlight • Viewpoint

A Sutherland beauty, nestled high in the Scottish Highlands, Conival is a wonderful Munro mountain, standing at 987m, you are treated to lovely views down to Loch Assynt. I can recommend the approach from Inchnadamph.

Ben More Assynt Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

Ben More (Assynt) is most commonly climbed along the ridge from Conival. My guidebook described it as follows - ‘the ridge from Conival to Ben More Assynt is a wonderful airy traverse to a high, remote hill. At times it narrows a little, but never deliciously so’. I think that sums it up perfectly. Views came and went during my ascent due to low cloud but down off the ridge I spotted a heart shaped Lochan ❤ - see if you can spot it too

With a 17% chance of rain we went to the Conival - one of the better known "Munros" in Scotland.
All weather conditions were present -
2 x short rain, fog and almost blazing sunshine ☀
In short: A real stroke of luck and
