The General Giardino road is a demanding climb from the start to the top, with an average gradient of 8% which becomes even more steep in some points, reaching 14%.
This road is immediately very panoramic, it is not infrequent that you will see numerous colored dots in the sky; in fact, this climb is also known to those who practice paragliding and hang gliding for its numerous launch points.
In Campo Croce (1,044 m a.s.l.) there is a short flat stretch, the only resting point along the entire climb, which will allow you to relax your legs a bit in view of the much more demanding second part.
Once you reach Baita Camol, you can give yourself a last break in view of the hardest section, where the slopes almost never drop below 10%. The breathtaking panorama and the fresh mountain air will make this last hard stretch less tiring than it might seem from the altitude profile.
The Strada General Giardino is usually closed throughout the winter.
