Classification of a trip to Valcamonica to be done between the end of September and the beginning of October, to enjoy the concert of the baramiti dei deer in love. On the slopes of the valley floor, the majestic male deer are clearly visible with their harem of females in tow. Obviously, it is better to linger towards the evening and binoculars are necessary. Valgrande itself remains pleasant although heavily anthropized. The route, which is mostly on a paved road and unfortunately not suitable for carriage, follows the Valgrande torrent. It is possible (for those who want to shorten the route) to purchase a €10 ticket in Vezza d'Oglio to park in the "Le Valli" picnic area. Last note: I feel a bit of disdain and regret for the work at Plan de l'Asen, where they are renovating the Occhi bivouac and building a refuge. It is clear to no one that they want to transform the area into a money machine. But above all the bulldozer that makes a mess and scares the deer, do we want to talk about it?!
The route begins with about a kilometer and a half of paved road but not passable except by residents. You arrive at a picnic area called dell'Acquacalda. From there begins the path with pebbles, very easy to walk. The view is beautiful but the path is really long. Up to the Saverio Occhi refuge there are about 900 meters of difference in height, from the parking lot at m. 1145, up to the Refuge, m.2047. The self-managed refuge has 41 beds! Unfortunately the application closed during the return, so there are 7.3 km of descent missing.
Gorgeous sunny day. Beautiful hike in Val Grande and finally the roar. I hiked around the refuge while Virgi went down to the mountain hut, so she could wait for me and finally see the deer through binoculars. Everything was beautiful...
