From the Plan-Francey mid-station, we took the Switzerland Mobile Trail 270 over the ridge to the Moléson. The clouds somewhat limited our view, so we concentrated more on the things that were close at hand: soldanella, spring gentian, cowslips, crocuses, and anke balls en masse.
I parked in Moléson-sur-Gruyère and took the funicular to Plan-Francey. I climbed to the summit via the ridge path, following the Gros Plané sign and then the Moléson signs. I came back down by cable car and funicular. A total of three trips for 30 CHF/adult.
A spectacular tour with a ridge walk and magnificent views. We skipped the two summit climbs to make the tour a bit easier. The view from up there isn't fundamentally better than from other spots. The ridge walk is the best section and therefore worth all the other efforts. Highly recommended.
