We tried the route of the GF Etnamarathon 2023, the route is presented as a ring, starting from Milo passing through: - Rifugio Serra Buffa; - Rifugio Pietracannone; - Acero di Monte Fontane; - Rifugio Pianobello. As reported on the main page there are two main climbs, the first climb towards Serra Buffa, 6 km and the second climb of Serra Buffa, faced from the side of Monte Crisimo, less long but no less challenging. Immediately after the first climb of Serra Buffa, you are preparing to move from the single track passing through the suggestive path of Grotta dei Ladroni, a passage that crosses the lava flow of 1865 (Cit.). The descent in single track that leads to the finish line of Milo must be paid close attention to, there you need a bit of cold blood and familiarity with MTB.
