An extensive landscape and a castle enthroned in the forest, with wide views and sunshine, hiking fun is not neglected. 🍁 Over many meadow paths along the edge of the forest and hedges, through the forest - always up and down, which is physically demanding. According to the actual recording, almost 440 meters of altitude have to be overcome, but this started late despite starting at the beginning of the tour. So it was re-planned, so the actual climbs are not so clearly visible. 🐾 That didn't detract from the enjoyment. The colorfully changing forests beamed at us near and far, wonderful to look at and walk through. A round that has everything ready and is crowned with Herzberg Castle as the centerpiece. 🤩
The last of the longer fable trails (10km or more) that I haven't walked yet. After yesterday's fabulous trail "Bächewege", which wasn't great, but now it's a really fabulous fabulous trail again, a hit in a hit 😉. There was also an unplanned medieval market at the castle. So if you are still looking for a great excursion destination for the Easter weekend, this fabulous trail with medieval market is worth it. A fabulous tour with fabulous dogs and fabulous medieval curd balls I had to share with said fabulous dogs. After that they had another sugar high and frolicked around like crazy.
In changeable weather ⛅️🌧️ I hiked my 12 fabulous trail today 🥾. There were a lot of muddy sections. Caused by forest workers👷♂️and wild boar🐗. But it shouldn't detract from the recovery. I would love to come back...👍🏼! Note on the wild boar: If you look at the GPS route data, i.e. the so-called "GPS-Art", you can recognize a wild boar with a lot of imagination 😁🐗. Extensive forests, fields with hedges and field borders and cozy meadow valleys form a fabulous cross-section through the beautiful, peaceful landscape in southern Knüll. Herzberg Castle greets hikers from afar from the summit. Beautiful views of the Rimberg and other surrounding elevations as well as in the distance in the direction of the Rhön reward you for some meters in altitude that you have covered. If you are looking for a break from everyday stress, this is the place for you. Only at the castle, which is popular with day trippers, is it a bit busier. In the old walls of the largest hilltop castle in Hesse, you quickly feel transported back to the time of the knights. With a bit of luck, you can even meet a real knight here on some festival days. A beautiful trail with many meadow paths, lovely views, and delicious food at the castle.
The F20 is the second longest route of the fable trails at approx. 13.5km. It's mainly on field and forest paths, but occasionally also on small paths in around half-open terrain across meadows and fields, otherwise on the edge of the forest or through it. The Herzburg, the heart of this fabulous trail, is definitely worth a visit, but it is not free, but you can also relax after the climb and take a break and/or stop off at the castle tavern. A nice path was fun but you also notice the altitude. My biggest drawback: at least 4 signposts were missing or destroyed, so I made a small mistake. Biggest plus; the black woodpecker, who unfortunately didn't want to be in the picture anymore.
Why is this circular trail called the "Knight's Trail"? Only Herzberg Castle indicates this. Although it's located on the Luther Trail, it's unexpectedly closed today. Perhaps with all the views, you feel like a knight on a conquest. Today, I, too, feel knightly. I conquer many paths through fields and meadows. Here, the grain is already ripening and swaying in the breeze. Chamomile, poppies, and cornflowers liven it up. The well-marked trail offers several meters of elevation and this fabulous expanse. Simply perfect for relaxing. On the last hill, I discover a strawberry field. I take a handful as a conquest and enjoy them immediately.

A truly fantastic tour, thanks for the inspiration. Because I was so enthusiastic, I took the liberty of filming this circular tour.
