This route was planned by komoot.
The route is really very beautiful but at the moment it is not practicable. Halfway between stage 15 and 16 the road is completely invaded by invasive vegetation such as ferns, shrubs and lots of brambles. We still managed (with a lot of effort and also a little panic) to overcome this passage about 800 meters long, then everything ok until unfortunately, at the height of stage 19 the route is interrupted due to a fence. At that point we had to go back and look for another road to return down to the valley. Too bad because the tour is really very beautiful
Today we drove into the hinterland of Genoa to Mele at about 120m. From there, we cycled up twice to about 620m. There are two options for returning, down to Mele. First, we took the left route. Very bloggy at the beginning, typical Ligurian bumpy flow 😉. There are repeated constructed sections with small drops. An old cart track turns into a nature trail that leads through the forest. The trail continues along a river to a few houses, where it ends at a car repair shop with old VW Beetles and vans. From there, the road leads to Mele. Back in Mehle, we had very good pasta for lunch at a trattoria. We climbed up a second time, this time taking the right route. This begins with a fast descent on narrow, slightly rocky gravel. Trails with jetties follow, on smooth forest floor. Various descents are possible here, all relatively new. A dense network of trails crisscrosses the forest. It's just important to keep your bearings, and you'll get back to Mele. Komoot unfortunately didn't record the first ascent. The total was: 1460m 42.5km 3.34 hours Conclusion: Great playground, so close to Finale Liguria and yet practically alone on the trails.
