We walked the path today. Really a very beautiful and pleasantly well-marked hiking trail. I have rarely experienced that.

The small lake with the waterfall is very idyllic and you could relax there wonderfully and switch off for a bit. Unfortunately, the waterfall didn't really have much water. You probably

Today we were in the Knüllwald forest. It was a very beautiful walk. At the end of the tour, there was a beautiful waterfall and a pond!😊🦆🦆🦢🦢🛝💧🌊

So now the time has finally come: the fabulous tours in Knüll have been published and signposted. For the Sunday afternoon I had chosen the stream tour in Christerode. The Christeröder waterfall is one of the most beautiful corners in the Knüll, but so far I hadn't managed to combine it with a nice hiking route. Those responsible have now taken over in the Knüll and created a beautiful circular hike between Christerode and Asterode. The path is well signposted, there are four benches and a lounger, with the most suitable place to rest about halfway along the path with a view of Asterode (and of course the waterfall). There is parking near the waterfall, it is best to walk the loop so that the waterfall comes at the end. On the way back I stopped briefly at the Easter pond in Oberaula, where two more fabulous trails begin. These and the others will soon be on our hiking list.

February 28, 2024, Fabelweg Bächeweg

https://www.rotkaeppchenland.de/media/touren/fabelweg-baecheweg Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do anything for a week due to a flu-like infection, so today I just wanted to go for a leisurely walk without a lot of elevation gain - I was still slightly weak on my legs. The Bächeweg fable trail was very convenient for me at 8 kilometers long. I really liked the Christeröder waterfall, the rest of the way seemed rather boring to me, but that could also be due to the fog that persisted until the end today. I think that the path otherwise lives from the beautiful views that we couldn't even imagine today... The sun finally appeared at the waterfall and we were able to enjoy our little picnic to the fullest with the birds chirping, the splashing water and the sunshine !

Very beautiful hike always along the stream (Bächeweg) and at the end there is the beautiful waterfall near Christerode.

I've always wanted to go to the "Christeröder Wasserfall". Very nice here 😍. The waterfall is 11 m high. However, I find the Buchenbach, which falls down the mountain in the immediate vicinity, more impressive 🤙🏻. Except for a few forest workers at the hiking car park 🅿️ Grünhecke, there wasn't a soul far and wide next to me. That's how I like it 👌🏻. A varied hiking trail. Recommended 👍🏼. The tour leads through fields and meadows, quiet beech forests and an idyllic valley with fabulous diversity. The highlight of the tour is the Christeröder waterfall: Wildly romantic, the Buchenbach falls over the edge of a former basalt quarry about 11 meters down into a small pond. In the nature reserve "Buchenbachtal" forest alternates again and again with open, partly steep meadow areas. Here sheep graze between old orchards and the Geritzbach murmurs through a beautiful meadow valley. Again and again, benches invite you to let your gaze wander into the distance, for example in the direction of Vogelsberg. If you follow the path anti-clockwise, you will finally be accompanied by the Buchenbach rippling over boulders, and with it you will reach the waterfall. We arrived at the starting point for the premium hiking trail (green hedge) called the Fabelweg Bächeweg at half past ten. The five of us (Barbara, Elke, Wolfgang, Uwe and ki) started in the nature reserve and were able to enjoy the initial stretch because it was pure premium. Steep little paths led us up after we had admired the waterfall at the waterfall hut in the sunshine. Today the temperature was between 18 and 25 degrees. The Buchenbach stream was always to our right. That was good for the dogs, they were in it and they enjoyed it. Camii was overjoyed at the beginning, running around and being happy ;-) We headed north - according to Uwe it was the other direction. Then it got a little unpleasant in my eyes because the path always led wide straight ahead with stones/gravel... through the forest, so we didn't sweat so much, at the beginning it went straight ahead and not up. On the 8 km tour we found few to no benches... and that was on a premium trail. If there were any, they were in the sun... Well, we'll have to think about that again. Especially in 2024 when we can enjoy climate change ;-( So please more benches in the forest! We walked along a small path on the left past boulders and the Buchenbach, crossed a bridge with the Buchenbach - Cami always keeps an eye out for squirrels. Into the forest and here begins the wide forest path with a view of meadows. Tall trees at the side of the path. Young cattle hiding under trees, just waking up in the meadow. The wide, stony path leads us on until we come to a tarred road (which was wrong) - at the end of Asterode - embedded in meadows and fields. So back and along the edge of the field into the shade, something to drink here for everyone. Into the town and looked at the fields with the trees, we continued to follow the meadows with the red sign "F Bächeweg", it was getting warmer and warmer, no water in sight here. Later a trickle on a 5-tree ;-) in the forest. There is always shade - thank you - we walk past the Grubewiese West. There is a lot of field that we are walking across - cornfields to our left and forest to our right. We walk 2 km through the forest to the Geritzbachtalblick. We turned right beforehand because there are tree trunks lying there - for what? - well, to take a break, as we couldn't find any benches anywhere. We ate and drank and took photos of woodruff and mushrooms on trees. Again through shadow and light and to the Geritzbach stream at the Seibelswiesen over a bridge - cool for the dogs. Then we continue across meadows - it's getting warmer and warmer. The path leads around the Seibelswiesen. Here again in the shade on a flowering meadow we take a break at the Stockacker. And then we go back to the waterfall - first we find a wonderful bench in the sun. Then after 8 km we go to the cars, pretty sweaty. No, I won't say anything about the Knülljause - it wasn't really our thing. But at least there was ice cream and cold non-alcoholic wheat beer.

A beautiful fabulous trail, with no steep inclines where you often find yourself next to a stream. It's nice to walk along field and forest paths and then there are beautiful panoramas. And the best thing is the beautiful little waterfall. Was fun!

We had long awaited this fabulous trail, as the waterfall was supposed to gush and have a clear effect on the green. First of all: the wait was worth it! 🤩🌊 We deliberately started away from the waterfall first, in order to have it as the final highlight. Instead, we went down through the Gerlitzbachtal on gentle forest paths or on a path directly along the edge of the field. 🐾🍃 In the direction of Asterode, where the turn took place up the mountain again, the open space with meadow paths and far-reaching views came to a head. It's amazing how far you can see! Filled with sun, the way back passed - crazy how fast it came - like in flight and as I said, the Christeröder waterfall rounded everything off again. 🌄 This fable trail was also fabulously decelerating, gently enchanted and especially for a summer morning before the heat, the round is made to cool down a bit. 😇☀️
