The hike uphill on the Sentiero Italia mostly runs through forest. Only in the upper section do you get a glimpse of the lonely Cilento mountains. Then you reach the plateau and see the Rifugio Pellegrini in the distance. Up here, you'll likely encounter the first people, as the refuge can be reached by car.
