This route was planned by komoot.
(Polar Recording) July and August were muggy and didn't encourage me to go out, then a couple of weeks when I didn't feel very well. Now it's better even if not completely. In any case, I'm happy because we started with group excursions again. Of the Alburni mountain chain, in the Cilento hinterland, I was missing the peak of Mount Panormo at 1,742 m above sea level. I planned a not very long ring tour with a moderate difference in altitude starting from the Ottati refuge at about 1300 meters above sea level. We left Eboli at 6:15 and reached the refuge by car at 7:30, the thermometer read 4°. When we completed the excursion at 12:30 the temperature was 11°. Today we didn't suffer from the heat, in fact, we didn't expect such a cool day. The tour was very beautiful: a karst landscape characterized by sinkholes, numerous clearings, splendid beech forests and a beautiful stretch on the crest with truly stunning 360° views. We walked a beautiful stretch of the “Sentiero Italia” without particular difficulties apart from about 600-700 meters among the rocks to reach the top of Mount Panormo and where it was necessary to help ourselves with our hands to climb. At the top beautiful views and, on the way back, the ridge path of over a km was wonderful. Very satisfied. I am grateful to @Roberto Marrapodi , @Reborn and Alessandro who has a great passion and many, many years of hiking experience. I hope I have “taken” you with me to the top of Panormo and made you immerse yourself in the karst landscapes of Cilento.
