Very scenic tour. From Sandersdorf via Riedenburg, to Altmühlmünster, it goes up to the Jura plateau. The sun was there in time for the altitude difference 🥵. We continued on remote farm and field paths. All very idyllic, rural and quiet. The 10-kilometer descent from Zandt just before Sandersdorf is awesome. There, three large trucks and a combine harvester suddenly came towards me on the dirt road 😳 Very curious. Great tour that I will drive again.

Oh, another beautiful gravel tour in the Altmühl Valley! We start in Riedenburg with its cute old town. Soon we are cycling in the middle of the countryside again. Of course we want to gain a few meters in altitude today, so we ride up the steep path to Altmannstein Castle. Here we have a great view of the old town and the green hills. This is followed by exciting trails down through the forest and great gravel roads through valleys full of wildflowers. Sometimes we even have a bit of the feeling that we are in Tuscany. But it is the Altmühl Valley and we notice that again very clearly when we cycle a bit along the Danube. A swim break is a must, of course, before we cycle the last few kilometers back to Riedenburg.
