My bike tour yesterday is one of the most beautiful bike tours I've ever done. It not only includes beautiful landscapes, such as the village of Schee with its half-timbered houses, but also tells a lot about the industrial history of mining (Zeche Nachtigall). The two railway lines Elbschertalbahn and the Glückauf railway line are well developed and can be used very well. I can only recommend the tour to everyone and I wish everyone a lot of fun on the tour.
Once again, the Ruhr region, which we've grown to love, continues to captivate us. My wife and I set off today on our tandem bike from the LWL Museum Henrichshütte in Hattingen (free parking). I can't even list all the sights; the tour has to be experienced. Besides the sights, there are also plenty of opportunities to replenish those burned calories. The route planned by radrevier.ruhr leaves nothing to be desired.
Absolutely recommendable tour, in my opinion 😉 Everything is there, Kemnader Lake, ferry ride, industrial culture, beautiful routes through the forest, beautiful climbs and downhill stretches and the Ruhr
I took some time off from the Ruhr this afternoon. It turned out to be a wonderful tour. A bit sporty. I'm not really used to 470 meters of altitude. It was fun!

I did the bike tour "From Ruhr to Ruhr" on July 16, 2022 from the hiking car park at Schee train station (Sprockhövel) with ProRad-EN. Unfortunately, a visit to the ruins of Hardenstein Castle, the Kemnader See lighthouse and a detour to Haus Kemnade were not planned. That's why Ferdi and I tackled the tour again, this time from the Sandstraße hiking car park in Gevelsberg Silschede. The ferry ride over the Ruhr and the cows on the Ruhtalradweg are the absolute highlights of the tour. All points are worth doing the tour again. Tour video: https://youtu.be/HGBVs96pvr0
The route runs almost entirely along beautiful bike paths. There are a few climbs, but they're manageable. A short ferry ride was a small highlight.
A very beautiful tour along the Ruhr and predominantly along railway lines through the Bergisches Land.
