The Spremberg Dam, also known as the Spremberg Reservoir, is located between Cottbus and Spremberg. The circular route is fantastic, 👍🏻because it leads along cycle paths through beautiful forests and landscapes. It's only a relaxing 19 km, but it's definitely worth the trip 🚴🏾♂️.
It is probably the longest circular lake trail in the Lusatian Lake District, but also a very beautiful one... the Spremberg dam is the fourth largest dam in Germany and at the same time the only one in Brandenburg. There are opportunities for swimming and resting and for longer stays there is space for camping. On the route along the reservoir you drive all around on pine-lined paths. Numerous bays and islands break up the water surface so that the lake circular route literally meanders along the shore.
Vacation...sun, water, good mood 😎 Immediately after arriving at the holiday destination, the holiday began with a bike ride, around the Spremberg dam. For Noah & me it was a get-to-know-you session, for André it was a reunion session. So that Noah could keep up with us, the two pensioners, he was allowed to ride. 🚲🔌🤭😉😆
Today a lap around the Spremberg dam. We started at the Hotel Waldhütte in Döbbeln and drove around to the left. Great paved path through the forest, from time to time the dam which unfortunately has far too little water. Small rest areas invite you to linger and occasionally a snack. Unfortunately, the old Finnish cabins and bungalows show what glorious times the campsites have behind them. The water does not invite you to swim, the low water level and the heat allow the algae to bloom.
Firstly, things don't turn out the way you planned and secondly, things don't turn out the way you planned...that's how the day and our tours could have been titled today. This first tour started at the car park in Sellessen, where we were able to whizz down the cycle path at the beginning. Then we continued on wonderfully quiet and asphalted paths, again through forest and fields. Only at the beginning was there a fallen tree lying across the path and despite all our efforts we were unable to clear away this stubborn branch. In between we discovered a dilapidated lost place and made a short stop. Photos were a must and exciting for "Junior". After that we cycled on, but always with a look towards the sky, which gradually darkened. Back at the car, everyone else had arrived by now, as we actually wanted to do the same route again after lunch. But now we went to the "Wildtränke" (https://www.wildtraenke.de/) for some refreshment, which we can absolutely recommend. It is advisable to reserve a place. After lunch we all wanted to go on the second walk around the dam together, including the dog, but it was pouring with rain, and there was thunder and lightning, so we looked for an alternative and found one.

It's a good mountain and valley ride! No problem for e-bike riders!
