Highlight • Mountain Hut

On our tour, many huts on the panorama tour were closed. Some are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. That's why you should have enough to drink with you on warm days.

The contrast to yesterday couldn't be greater! Yesterday we were still in sunshine, wearing t-shirts and a fantastic panorama of the summit, but today we were on our tour in rain gear in a big cloud 😅 The tour itself promised a lot, as it is called a panoramic high-altitude tour. And on a nice day, as you would expect at the end of May, the views would certainly have been quite extraordinary! A few times we caught glimpses of the valley through clouds, but only sometimes. A viewing board halfway through gave us an idea of how magnificent the views of Lake Zell, Maishofen and the whole valley would actually be. But what we did see despite the poor visibility: marmots! On the slope next to us and also directly on the path in front of us. By the time we had the camera ready, however, they had already disappeared back into their burrow. If the weather is nice, the tour is sure to offer fantastic views and all sorts of opportunities to stop for a break. On the high trail you pass several huts that are sure to be beautiful in summer and where you can easily spend an hour or two. As we all know, nobody has the weather under control and so the panoramic high-altitude tour was more of a wet and (happy) affair for us, with temperatures below 5 degrees 🥶 It was fine going uphill, but it was pretty cold going downhill, especially for the fingers. Accordingly, we were admittedly a little happy when we returned to civilization in Saalbach and rolled back to Maishofen on the Glemmtal cycle path, where a hot shower was waiting for us 😉 It's a shame that we weren't lucky with the weather today, but as the saying goes: we'll just have to come again 😉

Just a cool round with an unbelievable panorama.

Sorry, there is no description today. Lying in bed with snot🤧. Running. Dragged myself around the tour without a share today, so there aren't that many photos. Somehow there is not much going on with one. Hope I don't spend the last day in bed😭.

In the morning we drove a piece of the Panorama Trail. Then it went straight to the Panorama Route. The paths were great to drive and we have never driven such a long descent in one go. Fantastic! In Zell am See we had a good time at the lake and stopped for a short (or longer) time ... The way back was via beautiful bike paths back to Vorderglemm. Bottom line ... One of the TOP 3 tours I've ever done. 🤟

For today I wanted and planned a longer MTB tour. That was possible without any problems because the dream team 👨‍👦‍👦 had announced the Z-Line as the day's program again today after a day's break. 😅 So I started at the accommodation for the Kohlmaisbahn in Saalbach. From the mountain station, the tour continued over the upper part of the Panorama Trail until it meets the Tyrolean Tour and then the Panorama Tour. This lives up to its name. I stopped again and again to enjoy the fantastic view. When I arrived at Lake Zell, the weather was just about to change, so I didn't continue my journey to Zell am See as originally planned. I took one or two raindrops with me on the way back to Hinterglemm, via the Glemmtal cycle path along the Saalach, but also used two other storage facilities for a short break. All in all, it was a tour exactly to my taste, which I would even do again.
