Today's tour - and unfortunately our last tour for this holiday - takes us from Maishofen via the "Örgenbauernalm-Biberg Runde - Saalachtaler Panoramatour". Like all tours we have made in this area, this round tour through the Saalfelden basin and over the Biberg is technically very easy to drive. As with the "Örgenbauernalm-Biberg Runde", the tour should not be underestimated due to the ascent to the Örgenbauernalm and the Biberg. From Maishofen it goes on dirt roads to Kirchahm and on to Lahntal to the B311. After about 5.4 km begins at 800 m above sea level. NN the long ascent to the Örgenbauernalm (1,319 m above sea level) leading over wide gravel paths and then further up to the highest point of the tour at 1,480 m above sea level. NN. Since the mountains and the Örgenbauernalm are partly in the clouds today, the view is restricted. From the highest point it is now only a short distance to the 1,443 m above sea level. NN mountain inn Biberg ("Berli's Hütte"), where we have our lunch break. We are lucky and the cloud cover breaks up, so that we can still enjoy wonderful views both up here and in the further course of the tour. From there it goes a few hundred meters downhill and in a shallow bend at the Unterbibergalm to the left over the cattle gate (signposted). On the forest road (gravel road) it now goes downhill in hairpin bends until we meet the main road at the Stadelbauersiedlung. From there it mostly follows cycle paths and side roads via Lenzing to Saalfelden and then through the Kollingwald via Bsuch, Gerling and Kammer Castle back to Maishofen.
A nice tour with a great view, Steinerne Meer, Saalfelden basin. Zell am See.
Nice alpine hut Biberberg. From there we wanted to keep going. At km 11.7, due to a gravel mine with blasting, it does not go any further. Here Komoot shows a path that you cannot drive because it is closed. Otherwise, a great panorama.
By train to Saalfelden. Deliver a load of blackberries to my grandchildren and home via Biberg and Örgenbauernalm. A wonderful tour, a bit dusty on the way to the Biberg, but despite the high temperatures in the valley, it was pleasantly cool in the forest
An experience for every lover of views. 🚴♀️🚴👍
A nice tour with places to stop and a great view.
