parked behind the town hall accessible through a small side street, larger gravel parking lot. Inspired by "Karin", I started this round through Bermatingen. You have to be careful here, the hiking trails are in the middle of residential areas and can only be recognized by small stickers on lanterns, traffic signs or garden fences. The same thing later in the middle of the vineyards. But then it goes out and over orchards and forest paths you can see towards the Alps and the Salemer Valley. Then you get to the Bermatinger forest meadows with their special atmosphere. Comfortable benches and wooden loungers are always available for comfortable breaks. You can get drinks and ice cream in the Weppach Monastery. My opinion?? Easy hike in great nature. For those who like forest and meadow hikes, highly recommended.
"The circular hiking trail is characterized by the frequent change between open landscape and forest, the path repeatedly leads to longer stretches along the edges of the forest. There are a number of wide views and benches in the right places invite you to linger." Experience score: 66 points; 13% narrow paths/paths; 9.3km route Source: https://www.wanderinstitut.de/premiumwege/baden-wuerttemberg/bermatinger-waldwiesen/ This is one of the three premium hiking trails on the topic of "Lake Constance Landing". This tour is run as family-friendly and is less strenuous than the other two tours (Höchsten mountain tour, Gehrenberg tour). Forest and meadow are everywhere, so the first two thirds are rather unspectacular, if you disregard a few details (e.g. dandelion at the end of October!). The last third is great. A small path leads over a stream and then the path through the vineyards begins, which is just beautiful at the end of October. Depending on the weather, you can also enjoy the Alpine panorama here. In between, the zeppelins are also in the air (more precisely: the Zeppelin NT). At the weekend there is also coffee and cake along the route (not used). In the village itself, the old half-timbered houses are worth seeing. We didn't use the signposted alternative route this Saturday because the earthworks only affected 2-3m of the route and no craftsman was to be seen. May be different during the week...
Today we ran the "Bermatinger Waldwiesen" tour with friends. It begins in Bermatingen and, as the name suggests, leads over beautiful forest and meadow paths at the Weppach Monastery and the vineyards on a circular route with many great views of the mountains, back to the center of Bermatingen. I think this tour is particularly recommended in the spring time.
With the train to Bermatingen, walked a nice relaxing lap from there. Through forests and meadows we then went through the vineyards back to the starting point.
Not very spectacular, beautiful vineyards and some forest, but hardly any views and no infrastructure for breaks
Beautiful and varied tour, therefore very entertaining. At this time of year the grape vines and apple and pear trees are in full fruition. The paths are well maintained and therefore easy to walk on, and the network of paths is also very well signposted. There are some seating areas for a rest and, if the weather is clear, you can also see the Alps. Clear recommendation! Starting point: parking lot behind Bermatingen town hall
