Yesterday we crossed the border into Finland in Haparanda. Different time zone, but the EUR is still the means of payment. Before we drive on to the bears, we stop in the national park mentioned. We can spend the night in the large car park and then decide to do the long loop in the late afternoon. It is still very warm, luckily for the mosquitoes too 😉. The paths are wonderfully prepared, well signposted and it is virtually impossible to get lost. At the beginning it is a steady uphill climb to the highest point of 465 m. All-round views included. A wonderful landscape, just the way we like it and we are alone again in the wide open spaces. On the way we surprise two reindeer grazing, which of course then flee. It was exhausting, but we are happy that we decided to do this loop. Oh yes, the recording stopped briefly on the way, the correct path runs along the black line.

In winter, the path is very snow-covered, making progress difficult. It's advisable to use the "paved" path. While it's a bit longer, you'll make much faster progress and won't sink up to your hips in the snow with every step.
