On a sunny day in October, the Ligurian hinterland offers autumnal emotions with colours, temperatures and chestnuts typical of the period, only to then throw the sea in your face and 10 degrees more, just like that, in less than ten minutes! Amazing!
Today a nice tour of the Hermitage of Varazze .. a little off the beaten path, but beautiful, training with natural views and roads in the middle of the woods that are very varied and fun. Departing from Savona, take the Aurelia up to Cogoleto, once you have passed the town before taking the ascent of the Arenzano Colletta, turn left and start climbing .. towards the town of Lerca. climbs more pedalable .. then along the coast of the golf club of cogoleto .. and after crossing the village take a road on the left that leads us into a beautiful valley .. the first downhill stretch .. and then go up .. first gently in the middle of the farm .. then after crossing a small bridge. we come across the hardest piece, with climbs that even touch 15% .. which lead us to the Hermitage of the Desert of the Carmelite friars .. once you pass the road it always continues in the middle of the woods, alternating harder sections with others that are more pedalable, until you reach the road that goes up to the locality faie .. here is the highest point of the tour .. then you begin to go down to Alpicella..dooo the coffee break ..you leave again and cross the beautiful and funny stretch of the grove.you arrive at stella San Martino, then detour to the Madonna del Salto and descend to Stella San Giovanni, Ellera, to then arrive to Albisola Mare and back to Savona. in total there are about 65 km with 910 meters of elevation gain
