On the Wine & Fruit Tour you embark on a journey of discovery to the best fruit and wine growing areas on the Neckar. The tour is quite short at around 26 kilometers, so you have enough time to try the delicious fruits and let the colorful colors work their magic along the tour.
The small round starts in Walheim, right on the Neckar, just a quarter of an hour away by train from Heilbronn. So ideal for a day trip. The Romans already settled in Walheim. If you want to learn more about them, we recommend the exciting Roman Museum.
At the beginning you cycle directly along the Neckar. The excellently developed bike path leads you to Kirchheim. On the way you will see the wonderful vineyards that rise steeply over the Neckar.
You leave the river and cycle uphill to Freudental. On the way you drive past grapevines and orchards. As the seasons change, the fragrance and play of colors of the flowers, leaves and fruits will enchant you. Freudental is ideal for a short break. In the pretty village you will find a castle, a synagogue and of course a restaurant for a rest.
From now on you cycle slightly downhill to Walheim. The route through the Baumbach valley is particularly beautiful. Here the vineyards shine behind the intact natural landscape around the small stream.
