This turned out to be a wonderful hiking Thursday. Cold start ❄️ and plenty of sun 🌞.

I already hiked the Archotrail in the Solling a few years ago, it's practically on my doorstep and stretches between the valleys of the Weser and the Reiherbach. 😉 I liked it much better today. Somehow the paths were in better condition, and …

Since March, I've been frantically chasing the hiking stamps for the Solling Vogler Wild Homeland, and today I completed this quest with the last three stamps on the Archotrail. 💪
The Bo4, called the Archotrail, is the longest tour in the book "EXPERIENCE THE WILD HOMELAND ON FOOT" and is truly one of the most beautiful and interesting.

I saw this tour at @COUCHFLUCHT (here you will also find a very detailed and appropriate tour description 😉) and hiked it with my daughter today ☺️

A really nice tour through oak and beech forests, through the Hutewald, past lakes and great vantage points such as the Weser Skywalk...
It was really nice 🤩👍🏻

Friends from the north of Germany were with us and we did the Archotrail from Nienover.
Unfortunately the fog lingered for too long, so we had no visibility from Lug ins Land or Sohnreyhöhe.😣
Luckily at least there was good visibility and sunshine on the Sky Walk 🤩.
Towards the end we left the hiking trail and hiked on the …

It was wonderful with you. And that's why the sequence of pictures and text is EXCESSIVELY LONG.

The starting point for today's hike was the hiking car park below Nienover Castle. The Archotrail is a great place to collect stamps. The Lug ins Land viewpoint, the Sohnreyhöhe, and the Weser Skywalk are fantastic. In the Solling pasture forest, I encountered free-roaming Exmoor ponies, and two Heck cattle peeped out from between the trees.

Be honest: Ever heard of the Solling Vogler Region?

So for me it was previously a white spot on the map. Now I know...

1. that the region is in the Weserbergland in southern Lower Saxony and
2. that there are pretty nice hiking trails here.
