The River Findhorn flows from the eastern Highlands about 35 km east of Inverness into the North Sea. South of Forres it crosses a gorge with a hiking trail.

Randolph's Leap is a narrow point where, according to legend, insurgents managed to escape from pursuers by jumping over the river.
