My favorite round. More pictures can be seen in previous years. 😀👍
No tradesmen today, so time for a bike ride. We hadn't expected so much water in the Rhine, but the rain in the south over the last few days has brought this with it. The Kehr Tröch ferry was in operation and you can get to the other side of the Rhine quickly. We then went back with a tailwind 😀😎🚴🏼
There was no Richard and no Werner 2 in front of the Rhine bridge, so there was only water and no beer.
Today we made the "big round" together. Madox is proud and there was a reward in the form of ice cream anyway. Along the Rhine dyke, past the Grav Insel campsite, to the ferry house and finally with the Bislicher ferry across the Rhine. The reward on the other side of the Rhine and the tailwind did us good. On the way back we saw a herd of water buffalo and again several stork nests. And driving over the beautiful bridge over the Rhine near Wesel was a good conclusion. Tour length was actually 31km - a new record for my little companion. 👦🚴♂️
It was a very nice tour and the route was easy to drive.
Wesel over the dyke to Bislich. Cake cafe country air. Men's toilet with diapers for babies. Ferry across the Rhine. There were also nice conversations. seen cows. Nice conversations in front of the home bridge. That's worth an Astra 🤣. Then beer garden Lippeblick with live music. Everything fits 👍👍👍👍🤣
Over the Wesel Rhine bridge in the direction of Xanten. Then by ferry to Bislich and back on the Rhine to Wesel. There were a lot of cyclists on the road today. 😀👍
What a wonderful day! 🌞💐🌱💐🪿🌊🥰 And how lucky to have a day off like this and to be able to do a wonderful tour of the Lower Rhine! Today we explored the route between Wesel and Bislich, which @Lustiges Wesen already knows well, having grown up in this area, but which was still completely new to me. It's wonderful here on the Rhine dyke - which we naturally shared with lots of other day trippers on such a wonderfully sunny Ascension Day. 🚲🦽🛴🌞🌳💐🌊☺️ But that didn't matter at all in this case, as there's plenty of space for everyone, it goes well and everyone seemed to be in a great mood anyway. 🌞☺️ Everywhere along the dyke path, flowers are blooming in the most beautiful, brightest colors, 🌸🌼💐🌿 cows, horses and sheep graze in the shade of large trees 🐑🐄🐴🌳 and on Bislicher Island in the wetlands on the Old Rhine, bird watchers and photographers are bustling around with their huge lenses. 🦆🦅🐦📸 Here, in a few conversations, we learned a lot about the local sea eagle (!), the secret hiding place of a little owl in an orchard and the flocks of migratory birds in winter and were even able to observe lapwings, a red kite circling above us for a long time, many geese, some small birds and, along the entire route, countless storks in nests, in flight and looking for food in meadows and fields. 🦤 In Bislich we took the small ferry Keer Tröch II across the Rhine, 🛥️🌊🌞 where we were told that it is rare to see so many day trippers here at once. With a bit of luck, despite the long queue, we were able to cross the next ferry, which was really full to the last square meter, and on the other bank, and thus almost exactly halfway along our circuit, we had a wonderfully cool pilsner. 🍻😋 Continued on the dike through the beautiful meadows, at some point on the left the Weseler Auesee, on the right the Wesel gliding airfield, 🛩️ where we were able to watch several winch launches. A wonderful little, wonderfully relaxed circuit! 🌞🌊🌱💐🪿🍻😋🥰
