Trail Reviews

Lucie
May 31, 2023, Loch a' Choire – Ben Vrackie - Bealach Path Runde von Pitlochry

The tour may be long and high, but not difficult. The first nine kilometers are very relaxed, first along Loch Faskally, then along the raging River Garry. After the ninth kilometer the slight climb begins through open moorland and heathland to the loch of Loch Choire, then along the loch to the actual climb to Ben Vrackie. The path is steep and difficult, but predetermined and easily recognizable by some sort of rock steps. One cannot get lost. From the summit, in good weather conditions, one could enjoy wonderful views over the Scottish Highlands. Unfortunately, this is not the case on this tour, dense fog clouds passed at this height, which greatly restricted the view, although the weather was very friendly. The return journey was along the same trail and further on the footpath through the moorland back to Pitlochry.
