Several times a year, the Crown Domain is the Talk of the Town, because the Royal House then gets the monopoly over the trails for game management, or hunting. Fortunately, a number of dirt roads remain open year-round and you can race through the area on your gravel bike without…

This route was planned by komoot.
Kroondomein is closed to the public from Sept 17th-Dec 25th.....or not entirely for Gravel? Discovered this Gravel tour by Gijs Bruinsma thanks to a handy article in Bicycling.... You practically cycle between the closed sections. Just relax now! https://www.bicycling.com/nl/nieuws/a41049924/kroondomein-het-loo-closure/
Beautiful route over the long ribbons of the Crown Domain, no zigzags, but always smooth. Great long hardpack gravel paths, sloping through the landscape! Nice with Jeff, a former colleague who I had not spoken to for a long time. And finally a day without rain and with a sun that did its best to break through. That was fun!
I came across this route on Komoot. I'll tag the person who posted it first later. Because this is a really beautiful route! I happened to have nothing today. So I put my bike in the car and headed for the trails! The first 2 hours I only saw a chicken, then it got a bit busier with hikers and a few cyclists. Around 50 km it was time for a rest and I tried to help a mountain biker with a flat tire. Unfortunately we couldn't get the front wheel out of the fork... 4 left hands or shady make 😜 Anyway, it was a wonderful afternoon in the saddle 😃
Before closing the Kroondomein, this autumn, enjoy a round of the beautiful gravel roads there.
