Chavasse Park

Highlight • Natural

The park was created in its current form in 2008 in memory of the Chavasse family, from which bishops and Olympic athletes emerged.
The first design of the park, which was smaller at the time, dates back to the 1980s.

Royal Albert Dock Liverpool

Highlight • Historical Site

The Royal Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, England. Designed by Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick, it opened in 1846 and was the first structure in Britain to be built of cast iron, brick and stone without any load-bearing timber. This made it the first non-combustible storage system in the world. It was known simply as Albert Dock until 2018, when it was granted a royal charter and the honorary title “Royal” was added to its name.

At the time of its construction, the dock was considered revolutionary in its design, as ships were loaded and unloaded directly to or from the warehouses. Two years after its opening, it was remodeled and equipped with the world's first hydraulic cranes. [3] Due to its open yet secure design, the dock became a popular storage facility for valuable cargoes such as brandy, cotton, tea, silk, tobacco, ivory and sugar. However, despite its advanced design, the rapid development of shipping technology led to the need for larger and more open docks within 50 years, although Albert Dock remained a valuable cargo storage location (Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Albert_Dock ,_Liverpool).

The Prom is a lovely walk on flat, paved ground. Suitable for all levels in all weather although it can get a bit 'biblical' in the winter.

Fountain in Sefton Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

A grade 1 listed area of parkland Sefton Park is much loved by the locals. Designed to look natural there has been landscaping done here but it's well designed and feels nice to walk around. Carpets of daffodils and bluebells are planted to flower in spring. The curving paths and driveways make the most of the features and visit the boating lake complete with ornamental fountain and the glass palm house.
There is a cafe.

Liverpool Cathedral

Highlight • Historical Site

From the outside, the cathedral, which was only completed in 1978, looks a little angular. The church only unfolds its full charisma when you enter the interior. Only then do the dimensions become noticeable.

The large west window makes you pause in amazement before you start to wonder why there is a large and at least a small model of the well-known red telephone booth in the church:
In 1903 the Church of England held an architectural competition for church building. The design by 23-year-old student Giles Gilbert Scott won an award. Scott, who came from a renowned family of architects, later designed the red British telephone booths.
