The terrain is quite varied, featuring riverbanks, ridges, and wooded areas. You'll traverse paths along and overlooking the Cèze river, climb to ridges with panoramic views, and pass through green oak undergrowth. Some sections may involve walking on rocky outcrops, but paths are generally well-maintained and easily accessible.

What are the main points of interest along the Château de Montalet Loop?

The most significant feature is the Château de Montalet, a large feudal castle overlooking the Cèze valley. Trail Reviews

Walk from Molières to Chateau De Montalet, a ruined medieval fortress. Shortly after the start you come to an overgrown path. Afterwards you cross an old railway. But here we did not find the path to follow at all. We then chose an alternative path a little further up the road. The castle can be visited on Sunday afternoon. A group of volunteers is restoring it. The walk continues along beautiful forest paths.
