Vuelta al Cumbre Vieja por la pista Oeste y la pista del Cabrito — circular por el Parque Natural de Cumbre Vieja

Stormy today, east wind including Sahara dust in the air. It's good when the local guide chooses a suitable route, again we go with Bike&Fun. So today a lap around the Cumbre Vieja, the southern volcano route between El Paso and Fuencaliente. Except for a short trail right at the beginning, everything was piste, but what does that mean here! Along the east flank coarse gravel, gullies, sand, so always on sight and with a good feeling in the butt 😂. Ideal terrain for me to get used to the rental bike. Above Fuencaliente we switch to the west side of the Cumbre, we bite our way up several meters of altitude, much much deeper sand 🥵, but I know that the best view of the new volcano 🌋 comes somewhere! Before that, the yellow Flash, a special endemic horned clover, makes a sensational impression on the black lava floor. A dream day! At the end of the tour, I stand a little wistfully in front of a closed sign. An epic downhill to Los Llanos began here in 2018. Currently closed, but will definitely be back!
