La Manga of the Mar Menor

Highlight • Beach

La Manga del Mar Menor is the ideal place for nature lovers. In La Manga we can swim during the hottest months, rest and enjoy everything it offers us, such as the beautiful sunsets or long bike paths to travel it from end to end visiting every little corner. At this point we are at the Gola de Marchamalo, the only artificial channel of the five that connect the Mar Menor with the Mediterranean.

Mar Menor Saltern Windmills

Highlight • Monument

At the end of La Manga we will find several salt mills such as Veneziola or No. 168 which were used to grind salt.

The place is very quiet and ideal for contemplating the splendid sea views. Nearby we can visit the Puente de la Risa which will offer us a beautiful picture.

Puente de la Risa

Highlight • Bridge

The renowned businessman Tomás Maestre, a driving force behind the development of La Manga, had the idea of creating a development inspired by Venice on the Murcian coast. One of the few examples that still remain from that original project is the beautiful and peculiar Bridge of Laughter.

Although its steep slope can be somewhat uncomfortable, its unique design makes it stand out more for its beauty than its functionality.

You can do it, but it looks bad in places, all those hotel castles 🙄 and tourist taverns with all the tourist rip-off that is supposed to be sold to the people.🤢
