Hiking
This circular hike takes you along narrow paths and over small bridges through the wild and romantic Rötenbach Gorge. The start of the almost twelve-kilometer-long tour is at the Hardt hiking car park, a little outside of Rötenbach.
The path first takes you along the edge of the forest, then you dive into the forest and soon hike through the picturesque Rötenbach Gorge. In the narrow gorge with its many small waterfalls, you pass the unmanned Rötenbach Gorge Hut and cross numerous small bridges to the mouth of the Rötenbach into the Wutach Gorge. Time for a breather.
The path now takes you uphill towards Hörnle through a primeval forest. Once you have reached Hörnle, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the High Black Forest, including a view of the striking Feldberg (easily recognizable by the tower and the open summit).
The trail continues through the Krebsgraben to the “Rötenbacher Wiesen” nature reserve. A rich variety of rare plants and animals awaits you here, especially in May and June. You can return to your starting point via the so-called ant path. In Rötenbach you will find several places to stop for a break.

We went the way today. It still has a few ice sheets, but can be done with care. Due to the lattice bridges, to run with a 4-leg. We had to wear our 3 times😮. Super signposted.
