Very often you hear Altenmarkt and Zauchensee in the same breath and it is precisely these two places that this mountain bike route connects. It starts in Altenmarkt. From here you practically always head south-southeast into the Zauchbach valley. You alternate between asphalt and gravel.
Mostly in the shade of the forest, always close to the Zauchbach, you ride at a comfortable incline towards Zauchensee. Only the last two bends are a bit steeper and the ground a bit rougher, otherwise the almost 600 meter difference in altitude is easy to manage.
You leave the forest directly at the idyllic lake that gives the route its name and you are presented with a view of the wonderful mountain panorama of Zauchensee, the destination of your tour. After you have refreshed yourself here, you can cycle back the same way.
