Saint Tugen Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

The current Saint-Tugen chapel was founded in 1535 by René du Menez, lord of Lézurec, and Marie du Faou, his wife. From this period remains in particular the south porch, a magnificent example of Breton Renaissance architecture and sculpture, but the building has since undergone many alterations: construction of the bell tower from 1569 to 1582, then of the prison located to the north in 1593, doubling of the north arm of the transept in 1611, construction of the sacristy in 1720, modification of the south arm of the transept in 1750. The placître, which has several doors from the 16th century, was also modified in the 17th century.

Kermoor Beach

Highlight • Beach

The town of Combrit-Sainte-Marine alone has 3.5 km of sandy beaches, mainly facing south. That of Kermor is particularly beautiful and large with its 1.5 km of coastline. It is oriented South-East and slightly sloping. Its access is equipped with parking but no WC. Behind the beach is the Polder which is a preserved natural area and the cycle route.

Pointe du Raz

Highlight • Viewpoint

Here, Finistère fully justifies its name: the end of the land is celebrated in a parade of capes and promontories that brave the open sea. Classified as a “Grand site de France”, the Pointe du Raz rises to some 70 meters in height. Sculpted by the ocean and the winds, it alone is worth the trip to the region. Opposite it, the square lighthouse of the islet of La Vieille, lit in 1887, was automated in 1995. Beyond the untamed rocks and the emerald sea, the panorama over the open sea allows you to admire the island of Sein and on a clear day the Ar Men lighthouse.

For the first time on tour, we had dry tents, so we could set off in the morning without any hassle.

Mainland France's western point, Le Point Du Raz, is probably the highlight of the whole tour. “Extreme points” magically attract, and so there was a lot going on at the cape that separates the Baie d’Audierne from the Baie …

Very nice tour over many small roads and dirt roads. Fantastic views along the way

A relaxing day - it's not supposed to be too hot! Today we're planning to visit Pont du Rau.
The outward journey follows the coast, the return journey follows the inner side.

A lovely breakfast from Chantal.
After that, we went shopping – the organic store for the cider and the rest at Carrefour.
