Trabelsdorf Castle

Highlight • Castle

The Trabelsdorfer Schloss, a three-story building with two corner towers, is owned by the municipality of Lisberg and is used as the town hall of the Lisberg-Trabelsdorf administrative community, which was founded in 1980.

At best, you have your swimming gear in the car or with you, then nothing stands in the way of a fresh cool down.

Church of the Holy Trinity (Lisberg)

Highlight • Religious Site

In the middle of the 17th century there must have been a chapel in the square of today's Trinity Church, in which the lords of the adjacent Lisberg Castle were buried. The current church was built between 1729 and 1756 and was in the possession of the respective owners of the castle until 1979, who were responsible for the maintenance of the church. Parts of the old wall paintings can still be seen inside the church. Particularly impressive is the "Lisberger Madonna", probably created around the end of the 18th century, an oversized sculpture that originally came from the old Dominican church in Bamberg. A priest brought the Madonna to Lisberg after the Dominican monastery in Bamberg was dissolved. Source: Lisberg municipality

Radstein Memorial

Highlight • Monument

There are several stories about this stone. One of them says that many years ago a Wagner from Prölsdorf entered into a bet in which he had to make a bike within a day and roll it to Bamberg himself on the same day. He built the bike and made his way to Bamberg. At this point on the way, however, he lost his strength and he sank dead to the ground.
Another says that a butcher was once stabbed to death here.

Konik Wild Horses

Highlight • Natural

The Konik is a pony breed from Central and Eastern Europe. The ponies are very robust and are used both in agriculture and in the conservation of numerous nature reserves. Koniks are black-colored horses with a dark eel line and dark legs. Sometimes there are handcuffs and a weak shoulder cross.

Water Buffalo in the Aurachtal

Highlight • Natural

In the Aurach Valley between Walsdorf and Lisberg, new paths in landscape maintenance have been treaded for several years. In 2006, a grazing project “Aurachochse” with eight rear cattle was started between Walsdorf and Zettelsdorf, a breeding of the Aurochs. In the meantime the herd has grown to an impressive number. In 2011, water buffalo and Koniks were added in the valley between Kolmsdorf and Feigendorf. The robust herbivores are kept outside all year round and only need to be fed in real emergencies such as long-lasting snow or flooding. A prerequisite for year-round grazing is sufficiently large pastureland, low animal density and close interlocking between open land, bushes and groups of trees as

The path that komoot had between Lisberg and Kolmsdorf did not exist, but there was another one right next to it. So, we have taken this ... but it ends in man-high impenetrable nettles. So back again and following the signpost "Radstein". This path later becomes a beautiful meadow and forest path, which is currently very overgrown and mosquito-heavy, but …
