Behind Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

A loud rushing and roaring waterfall - and you also get a little wet from the spray.
If you go all the way around it, you can easily come out completely wet without rain gear.

Since getting wet is part of an Icelandic vacation, and the rain didn't work out, we accomplished this task with the help of a waterfall.

There's a path behind Seljalandsfoss, and depending on the wind direction, you'll get more or less wet. We only got very slightly wet.

Afterward, we walked past two more waterfalls to Gljúfrabúi.

We continue in Iceland with the round trip.
A stopover at 4 waterfalls. At one you can walk in a hollow behind the waterfall and thus have a super different perspective than usual. Total luck at the time, by the way - when we arrived there were only "2-3" people on site. Normally this place is totally overcrowded. Less than …

On our last day in Iceland we gave it our all again. With the rental car we went down south to visit some waterfalls. Take the Ringstrasse (1) in a southeasterly direction and you will find it.

Beautiful icy waterfalls. Grödel are certainly good when there is snow. Parking fee 700 ISK. There are more waterfalls here, I'll only show you the most spectacular ones, I don't want to bore you ;-) The path is well maintained and can be used with a stroller.

Having already started at our accommodation at , we arrived at the parking lot shortly before . This allowed us to visit both waterfalls and take photos while the crowds were manageable.
When we continued our journey at around 9:15 a.m., numerous cars and buses had …

One of the most impressive waterfalls in Iceland, beautifully situated and you can walk behind the falls. There are a few more waterfalls along the edge, one of them in a crevice, also well worth seeing. You should have weatherproof clothing with you with a view to the scattering of the water 😉.
