Pwllheli town centre and beach

Highlight • Beach

Pwllheli is a small town with several cafés, pubs and restaurants, as well as a big supermarket (Asda), long sandy beach, promenade and marina.

In terms of tourism, Pwllheli is mostly overshadowed by nearby towns like Abersoch, Criccieth, and Porthmadog. However it offers plenty for people passing through or wanting a place for the night, and I feel the beach is very worthy of a detour!

Iron Man Sculpture on Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Llanbedrog Coastal Circular Walk can be accessed from Plas Glyn-y-Weddw's mature woodlands. This walk takes you up to Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd headland, and its stunning views over Cardigan Bay - keep a lookout for the distinctive Tin Man Sculpture. Care should be taken on the walk, especially with children, as there are some steep parts. It's a 2.3 mile circular walk, and will take about 2 hours.

Pwllheli Beach and Promenade

Highlight • Beach

This stunning, golden sand beach runs more or less the entire way between Pwllheli and Llanbedrog. It's backed by sand dunes and is often sheltered from the wind as it faces south and the land curves around in the west. Pwllheli harbour is just north of this point.
