Museum of Puppet Theater Culture (PuK) Bad Kreuznach

The Museum for Puppet Theatre Culture (PuK) is a museum in Bad Kreuznach with an attached workshop, its own theatre room with regular performances and many test stations for self-discovery. It was opened on April 23, 2005 and houses the extensive collection of Karl-Heinz Rother (1928-2010), which is now the property of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as many other masterpieces of puppet theatre (PuK collection).
A permanent exhibition covering 750 m² of exhibition space shows the world of puppet theatre. The different forms of puppet theatre from all over the world are on display, as well as the range of puppet theatre in the 20th century in Germany. The development of puppet theatre from popular entertainment to an independent theatre genre and also of TV puppet theatre is illustrated here. There are also special exhibitions every year, such as in 2008 on Astrid Lindgren and on the life's work of Prof. Albrecht Roser.
