Muziekbos Rope Trail

Highlight • Trail

A nice winding walking path through the Muziekbos.
The ropes help many hikers to a higher or lower level.

Saint Peter's Forest

Highlight • Forest

The Sint-Pietersbos is the eastern extension of the Muziekbos. This former private forest covers over 52 hectares. The Muziekbos (50 hectares) was almost completely clear-cut during the First World War, but the Sint-Pietersbos was preserved. It boasts a unique collection of old summer oaks and American oaks, beeches, and ash trees, all 150 years old.

Boardwalk on Stilts

Highlight • Bridge

It's always fun to walk on butterfly trails and it keeps your feet dry in very wet weather.

Great Stone Path

Highlight • Trail

Stones may be remnants of a heavenly empire crumbled by humanity.
Now these stones serve as stepping stones and are practical for reaching the other side dry-shod.

Adventurous trail. Watch your step, very uneven ground.

This view into the distance is simply wonderful - you can indulge and enjoy and please decide for yourself: Does heaven kiss earth or vice versa? Or is the horizon anyway a unit that is divided solely by your considerations into above and below? Pretty philosophical, hiking in Flanders...

Muziekbos Play Forest

Highlight • Forest

The Music Forest, which overlooks the Flemish Ardennes on a million-year-old witness hill, is highly recommended for nature lovers. Although you can fully enjoy the melody of rustling leaves, the forest actually has nothing to do with music. It owes its name to the Celtic translation of 'swamp': 'Muz'. Tip: in the spring (April/May) you can enjoy a carpet of blooming bluebells. In the music forest you can walk along the designated paths, children can have fun in the two play zones.

WARNING! Paths are neglected. Boardwalks are often broken. During autumn/spring it is a muddy walk. Watch out for live wires on narrow muddy paths.

Lovely weather today, and it's always nice to wander through the beautiful Muziekbos. You always find something new; I'd never noticed the Geuzentoren, for example. It was a pleasant reunion with the Muziekbos, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Showing Translation

After the walk through Ronse we still had time to take a walk through the music forest. According to Inge the name music forest comes from the birds that sing, chirp and call. There are some steep slopes in between, but also a pleasant surprise.
