From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view in all directions:

To the north stretches the imposing Nordkette massif, its rugged peaks shining in brilliant white or deep gray depending on the season. To the east, the view extends to the gentler hills of the low mountain range, dotted with dense forests. To the south, the panorama opens up to the majestic Stubai Alps, while to the west, sunlight plays over the vast fields and forests surrounding Natters.

The meadows surrounding the Eichhof are a true natural paradise. In spring and summer, they shine in lush green, interspersed with blooming wildflowers and fragrant herbs. Butterflies dance in the air, and the buzzing of bees lends the surroundings an almost meditative tranquility.

In autumn, the landscape transforms into a vibrant sea of gold and red tones, while in the morning hours, wisps of mist often gently settle over the fields. In winter, the entire landscape is covered in a thick blanket of snow – a magical setting where you can fully enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Whether hiking, strolling, or simply relaxing in the Eichhof's beer garden – the surroundings invite you to unwind and take in the impressive Alpine panorama in all its beauty.

Stone Cross (Nattererboden)

Highlight • Monument

A Shepherd's Duel

The roughly carved stone cross on the Nattererboden, south of Innsbruck, between the former Jesuit farm and the Tschurtschntaler farm, still in the forest but rising close to the edge of the meadow, owes its origin, according to legend, to a very strange event:
In ancient times, there were pastures where meadows now stand. These pastures gradually transformed into what is known as a perennial forest, where a herd of goats searched for tasty leaves, while the grassy slopes served as a source of food for a herd of cattle. No fence separated the two areas.

But since the cattle occasionally invaded a small grassy area in the forest, which still exists today, and the goats also grazed bushes and all kinds of plants that grew in the cattle's territory, the shepherds began to argue with each other. This soon led to a violent argument. Because they were armed with spears to ward off bears and wolves, they decided to engage in a duel with these weapons. One mounted a bull, the other a billy goat, and charged at each other. Twice, both missed their target. The third time, however, one pierced the other's heart with the tip of his spear at exactly the same time. They died instantly.

To atone for this sacrilegious game, the rude stone cross that still stands today was erected.

View of the Karwendel Mountains

Highlight • Viewpoint

The view from the Karwendel is simply impressive. Looking north, a panorama opens up that encompasses the entire Karwendel mountain range – a true natural wonder that captivates the eye.
The majestic Karwendel Mountains, with their steep cliffs and rugged peaks, rise directly above Innsbruck and form a striking backdrop. The peaks of the Karwendel, such as the Vorderer Karwendel Spitze and the Hochkar in the west, offer a dramatic yet calming view. The rocks shimmer in different colors depending on the time of day – from a warm golden hue in the morning light to a cool blue in the evening hours. In winter, the Karwendel transforms into a majestic snow paradise, while the snow-capped peaks and the deep blue of the sky combine to create an unforgettable sight.
In spring and summer, the mountain slopes are covered in lush green meadows that reach high into the mountain regions, exuding a sense of freshness and life. Hikers and mountaineers moving along the steep slopes appear like tiny dots on the vast, natural canvas.

The fields above Natters are a beautiful natural area offering rolling hills, expansive meadows, and magnificent views of the surrounding Tyrolean mountains. Especially in spring and summer, green meadows stretch out here, crisscrossed by narrow paths that are ideal for hiking, walking, or cycling.

In autumn, the leaves of the trees along the field edges turn warm gold and red, while morning mist often gently settles over the meadows. In winter, snow covers the landscape, giving it a tranquil, almost magical atmosphere.

From here, you have an impressive view of the Innsbruck Nordkette mountain range, while to the south, the rolling forests and hills of the low mountain range are visible. The fields are not only a popular local recreation area, but also agricultural – grains and meadow herbs grow here, and cows and horses graze.

A wonderful place to enjoy nature, take a deep breath, and absorb the beauty of Tyrol!
