Pens Village

Highlight • Settlement

The small, pretty town of Pens with its magnificent Peter and Paul Church is located at 1,458 m in the beautiful valley head of the Pensertal, where the panoramic pass road winds its way up to the Penser Joch (2,211 m) for over 9 km

The driveway of Bolzano is rather unspectacular and runs on almost only on the main road

Penser Joch South Ramp

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

Hammerike down to Botzen. Without end, it goes downhill. About 40 km. You drive through 5+ illuminated, relatively short tunnels (200m max) and can bolt through with over 50 full (bulbs should be already). Never thought that tunnels could be so fun. Scenic ingenious. The road is great on the top, further down, it is sometimes a little rough. Nevertheless, I would not go on the bike path, unless you go on a pleasure trip.

I would not recommend this route uphill. This is certainly not nice through the tunnels. There are also many passport tourists.

Start as early as possible.
