There is a lot on offer here, hotel, restaurant (the eye always eats here), or you can go to the in-house Roman baths with their own thermal spring, and only a few steps further to the new SPA area.

September 30, 2023,Baden I Aargau - an der Limmat
After my move, I inspected the paths along the Limmat today: the Romans loved it here and romped around in the springs and thermal baths of Aqua Helvetecae. That was what Baden was called back then.
Today, among others, the descendants of the former legionnaires sit in the springs.
Vindonissa, today Windisch, 8 km from Baden, was home to around …

August 3, 2024,Aargau - Baden
A short walk along the Limmat and in the old town of Baden. It's hot and the summer flu is raging. Unfortunately, it's the same with me. So we're going at a leisurely pace. All the cafes in the old town are full and we let ourselves drift along the Limmat towards Windisch.

Today we go to the old town on the other side of the Limmat. Change of perspective.
Past the Oederlin area. On the opposite side there is steam coming from the thermal baths. Mario Botta is the architect of the fortyseven thermal baths, which opened in 2021.

The trails next to the Limmat are closed due to flooding.
A beaver left nibble marks on a young beech tree. Almost there. A few more bites and it tips over.
Remains of Roman baths were uncovered during renovations to an old hotel. You can discover something new every day 🦫

December 10, 2023,2. Advent in Baden
Walk along the Limmat, which is flooding after the night's heavy rain.

The actual destination, the historical museum of Baden, is adjusted due to hunger. My legs carry me to Burger King. In contrast to the stomach, the head remains empty. 😉
