The 23-hectare estate surrounding the Fraeylemaborg enchants with its spacious park in the English landscape style. Great for a little break and a leisurely walk.

This folly (Haiko Meijer) is inspired by the heyday of carriages. The Fraeylemaborg estate had a beautiful collection of carriages for centuries, with which the residents used to travel for short or longer journeys. With a barouchette, a chaise or a tent wagon, pulled by a number of horses, people traveled in style. The carriages were parked in the Koetshuis on the forecourt of the Fraeylemaborg.

The folly “Koetshuisje” does not refer to a building in which a coach used to be kept, but is reminiscent of the coach itself. Haiko Meijer has incorporated all kinds of elements: the contours, the color, the romantic and intimate. landgoedfraeylemaborg.com/koetshuisje

The Yellow Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The Yellow Bridge is located over the pike pond. This pond was so named because it used to be where pike were bred for meals in the deposit. However, the name has just as much to do with the shape of the pond, which has something of a pike with its jagged banks.
In 2011, the former simple wooden bridge was replaced by a reconstruction of the bridge that lay here in the 19th century, then called the Yellow Bridge. The reconstruction was made on the basis of two sketches made in 1835 and 1843.

Statue of Pomona at Fraeylemaborg

Highlight • Monument

Spread throughout the park of the Fraeylemaborg are more than 20 garden ornaments and garden statues, which date mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. They originally had their own place in the then Baroque geometric layout of the park.
The statues often represent ancient gods and the images on the vases are often borrowed from Greek and Roman mythology. The statue represents Pomona, the patron goddess of tree fruits. She therefore carries a bowl of apples and is reflected in the water of the Ronde Kom. The monkey at her feet tastes an apple and refers, as it were, to the sense "taste". The statue dates from the 17th century, but stands on a pedestal that is a century younger, namely in Louis XIV style.
