Nice rest area with a view of Oberkirchen with juice cupboard and stamp station for the Jakobs-Pilger-Weg. The stamp shows Oberkirchen's landmark - the valley bridge.

The refuge was built below the summit in 1953. It is about 50m to the summit cross. There is also a guest book in the refuge.

Dangerous on wet paths or slush, especially the detour to the stone cupboard. Sturdy shoes and walking sticks are helpful. Otherwise - beautiful, varied hike 👍

I did this tour years ago and was only able to get to the summit for a short time because it was really freezing cold. Today I was luckier, the sun even came out and I was almost alone on the summit.

Exhausting but beautiful tour around the Weiselberg. It goes up and down again and again. Some sections of the route run on the old railway line. The rest area with the drinks fridge is great.

Tanja chose a beautiful hike for us in Saarland today, and Steffi was able to join us again.

A thoroughly enjoyable day of hiking, with a few minor weather changes at the end 🤣.

The summit cross with the summit register was a highlight; we even had sunshine there, and our food was absolutely delicious.

It was wonderful!

The trail is highly recommended. You need to be sure-footed in some sections, and some of the climbs are long and steep. But they're worth the climb.

Unfortunately, I only started recording after the first steep climb, which starts right at the swimming pool in Oberkirchen.
It often goes over well-developed cycling and hiking trails. When it comes to narrow paths, nettles and thorn bushes are often in the way, especially if you make the detour to the stone cupboard.

A beautiful hiking tour - Wieselberg summit - with great views and two steep climbs 🤩

Hello Stephan, since a large part of the route leads along forest paths, it was great to run.
