The Burg Eltz Way of the Cross ends at this cross. Behind the cross there is a small wonderful viewing platform. Unobstructed view of the castle and the Elzbachtal.

Eltz Castle

Highlight • Castle

Castle Eltz towers like a fairytale castle on a 129 meter high hill in the valley of Elz, a small tributary of the Moselle, which flows around the castle from three sides. The castle had been "lucky" in the course of its history: it could never be conquered by force and was already tended by the owner in the 19th century, cared for and restored for a lot of money, so that today it still stands really well. By the way, for more than 800 years she has been in the possession of the family von and to Eltz-Kempenich, who is committed to ensuring that the castle is maintained and made accessible to the public in the future. In the summer months you can visit the castle. However, you can not drive up to the castle - the steep, small way there you prefer to attack on foot.

A really successful tour.
There are some nice trails here, mostly climbs on asphalt.
If you want to take a shortcut and save a few meters in altitude, you can simply continue in the shrink valley in the direction of Münstermaifeld.
