Past the Saorge monastery (well worth seeing!), on a moderate incline along old terraces without shade in an easterly direction to the old church of St. Croix.

From there we turn north, always following the ridge up to Pinee. And then through sparse pine forests to the Col de Peremont mountain saddle.
