The highlight is not only the delicious homemade cakes and original Viennese apple and plum strudel, the yeast cake from the in-house wood-fired oven ... and the ice cream sundae are also delicious!

Wiepke Village Church

Highlight • Religious Site

Around 1600, the church was significantly destroyed in a fire. It required the new construction of the bell tower of the tower. A little later, the roof ridge was set on the pitched roof. The choir's groin vault was also destroyed by the fire. In 1602 it was replaced by a wooden coffered ceiling richly painted with geometric shapes.
Around 1750, the church was redesigned according to the taste of the baroque. The narrow Romanesque arched windows in the choir and nave have been enlarged. They are designed today in the style of classicism with plaster and plaster band below the eaves. The entrance was moved to the north side of the tower. Originally, the nave and tower were connected by two arcades in a round arch, which rested on a common center column. On the north side is still a priest's door, which is preserved in its original design. Also on this page is in the side of the ship a walled arched portal can be seen.
In 1842, a baroque organ was purchased, which presumably was previously in the Gutskirche of Isenschnibbe. Around 1900, the two windows on the eastern wall were given a new lead glazing. In one picture is Moses with the 10 commandments, on the other Christ after the resurrection.
After 1990 there was an extensive renovation and restoration of the church.
The village church Wiepke is a stop on the Romanesque Road.

Gardelegen Town Hall

Highlight • Historical Site

The town hall was built between 1526 and 1552 after the town fire of 1526 had destroyed the previous building.
From 1914 to 1917 a renovation took place according to plans by Otto Stiehl, in which, among other things, east and west gables were added and the arcades were opened to the arcades. The last comprehensive renovation to date took place in 1998-1999.
