The oak is a sessile oak (Quercus petraea). With a trunk circumference of 6.40 m, it is the second thickest sessile oak in Bavaria. Only the sessile oak near Eysölden is slightly thicker with a circumference of 6.45 m. The short trunk is strongly thickened towards the bottom. The monumental trunk dissolves into numerous branches at a height of 2.5 m. A large number of branches go up diagonally like a brush to form an umbrella-shaped crown. The age of the oak is given as 450 years. But it seems to be growing rapidly. In 1990, in Paths to Old Trees, Fröhlich stated a circumference of 5.40 m. 27 years later, the circumference is 6.40 m. Per year, the circumference has increased by over 3.5 cm.
