Lower Rivington Reservoir is at the end of the Rivington chain of reservoirs in Lancashire, England, with Upper Rivington Reservoir to the north, and Rivington Water Treatment Works to the south. View of Rivington Reservoir

Highlight • Lake

North of this dam is the upper Rivington Reservoir, the lower reservoir is to the south. There are also two more reservoirs to the north which form this chain of four reservoirs. Built between 1852 and 1857 the reservoirs provide water for the surrounding Wigan area although they were originally built to supply Liverpool.

Constructed between 1852 and 1857 this is the middle of the three reservoirs in the valley. There are nice footpaths all around the reservoir and further up the valley.
